And now I am eagerly anticipating Seven Samurai, hoping either that it has, or soon will, go out of copyright and be digitized by some devoted film lover. It _appears_ not to be in the database (though searches on Kurosawa, Mifune, and Rashomon come up empty even though Rashomon is definitely on file, making me leery of the search functions) and it doesn't show up in the alphabetical browsing index.

More Kurosawa!!

"Seven Samurai" was made in 1954. It's those made prior to 1953 that are in PD.

Thanks, Jonc, I hadn't known about this copyright provision.

I see that Kurosawa made quite a number of films before Rashomon and before 1953, though Rashomon made his name, and hope to see some of those on the Archive some day.
