Yes; this was the case at Winterland all thru the 70s til closing (closed with GSleeves)...we were all confident this was BG's call, as CC notes. Note sure we have independent confirmation--such as that doc flick on him or some such--but everyone I knew in the 70s just "knew" this was the case.

Green sleeves was Graham's call as he discussed in his autobiography
He wanted to use the same tune after every show so that people would know the show was over and leave the hall instead of lingering around or calling for more encores
He discusses how he used this to basically clear the hall when the sex pistols went crazy

Thx, NJ; I was sure somehow we had gotten "ind confirmation" one way or another, but then...memory lapse and all, didn't want to come on too strong.
